Hot Dogs: How Did They Get Their Name?

Some people argue on the subject of the naming of hot dogs, and I havent even found a straightforward story about this topic either. Some say the name "hot dogs" was to make fun of the Germans. Germans supposedly brought hot dogs over from Germany, and they also brought the dachsund to America as well. People called this food a "hot dog" because it looked like the long body of a dachsund, and it was served hot. I personally think the name of this food is an insult to all dogs around the world, because none of them would ever want to be eaten! Imagine, sitting in front of you at dinner, a poor little maltese dog! How sad! Should the name be changed to hot meat? Or even, hot cat, for those who dont like cats? Why couldn't a hot dog look like a cat's tail? Nonetheless, even if these delicacies we call hot dogs arent even dogs, did you know Koreans eat actual dogs? Now that is just horrible! I vote on a name change of the hot dog!
